Red Lion has several rail options Cobraeye. If you go to the link on page 1 of this thread the stock picture on their website shows an Eotech on a full length rail. You actually order the bare forend and add the rail options you desire.

Update: I added about 2 drops of gun oil to the threads of the knurled nut and can now unlock, twist 90 degrees, and lock in position in under 2 seconds, either way. If you are going to buy a forend for you S2K, the Red Lion is the one to get, all of the rest of them just sit there. just my 2 cents

True but, as with AR's, the decision to add a front rail comes with the need to remove and/or replace your front sight.

I really like the Red Lion Forend but don't like what I'll be left with once the factory sight is gone.

I think Red Lion should build a quality metal front sight post for the Subbie to sell with their forend. Samson, Troy and others do this with AR's, Sig 556's and AK's

I think I'll be ordering one of these soon - still undecided about what to do (if anything) about the removed factory front site. Don't really like the factory one anyway...but - would like to have 'something' just in case...

The quality of the package looks excellent!

Default red lion foreend review

ok, spent last week assembling my red lion foreend.

let me add a few things. *first, my sight sleeve was not coming off, not with 800 degrees of heat gun, not with 1200 degrees of heat gun. *it came off with a dremel.

second, the instructions are very clear, and easy to follow. *I especially liked the "make it look like this" picture. *real men can follow that.

third, took it to the range yesterday, 500 rounds later, the things was a definite hit at the range. *it added a whole aspect, and the rotating foreend just makes transport so much easier.

we will take it out again next weekend, and see what happens then.

so far, so good. only time will tell, and it will be at KCR in 3 weeks.....

This definitely interests me but I'm a rail neophyte. Could someone please explain why you would want different length rails, RL offers three (5, 8, and 19 slot), rather than full length rails that you can cover the unneeded part with rail covers?

TIA,
-LT

My guess is so you can customize your price/cost to what you actually intend to use without resorting to rail covers. *I rarely see anyone filling a full length side rail up, so why not a short one for a light /laser? *Like lab-rat's example of just enough rail to mount a light and Eotech. *My choice would be a full length top (19) for all sight options, front mid length bottom (8) for a grip and light, and 2 short sides (5) forward mounted for my mag holders (I don't place foldability high on my list). *It's all about choice.
