At lest not in my two pistols, *P229 & P226...... they don't interchange.
Actually you sure about that ??? I know that you can use the P226 magazines in the P229, but there will be a small gap between the bottom of the grip of the P229 and the bottom of the P226 magzine. Infact you can use what is called an X-Grip to use the 9mm P226 18/20 round magazines to fill the little gap on a P229. God Bless
If this is the case then you should be okay. *The Glock versions are so popular because if the magazine is long enough to fit in the mag well it will work. *A 229 mag may not work in a 226 because it is too short to seat against the catch or bottom of the slide before the floorplate hits the bottom of the grip. * VBVAGUY you just answered your own question. *But all is not lost. *It's a common practice for Glock users in here to trim about 1/2" off the bottom of their Glock 17 Subbie's grip to allow use of shorter Glock 19 magazines. *You should be able to do the same thing IF
the 229 magazine is as it looks on the SIGSAUER website, and is just a shorter version. *All you need is for the mag notch to be the same size and location in reference to the feed lips on the top of the mag. *There is a link titled G19 vs G17 in the FAQ stickied top of page with pictures to show what I mean.
