Default IWI / Umarex .22 caliber UZI Pistol

I finally got my hands on the new IWI UZI .22 pistol today. It's a heavy, well built, and fits like a brick in my hand ...everything I hoped for, and more... it has a threaded barrel that allows use of a Walther p22 thread adaptor.

The little pistol really has a cool factor, and with the 20 round magazine, it's going to br a great plinker. The trigger feels great, the sights are really good, and the fit and finsh of everything seems to be very nice. It also came with a IWI hard case, and the tools needed to do some disassembly.

First impression: I like it!
I'll add a range report when i get a chance to shoot it. Unfortunately, I ahve to work the next two nights and won't get to play with it until the weekend!

Anyway, on the a picture...

Nifty! Didn't even know they had those out. Is the 20-round mag a double-stack setup? Because usually, at least from my understanding, many designers have trouble making .22 LR mags over 10 rounds in a single-stack setup with the mag being straight - I think it's because of the stacking of the rims that naturally leads to a "banana" look, like the hi-cap mags on a Ruger 10/22.

Where did you run across one of these bad boys?

I've been bothering distributors since first seeing tale of them online last year. I got mine through Davidson's. Check the Davidson's Gallery of Guns website to find a dealer selling one.

The magazine is straight, and appears to be at least partially staggered, if not a true double stack magazine. I ahven't had a chance to load it up to get a look yet. The magazine does have one of the little buttons to assist with loading. I like that feture in a large capacity magazine.

I got this one yesterday, along with a Mossberg 930SPX Blackwater shotgun. I didn't know which one to take out of the box first. It was like Christmas morning around here. I can't wait for a day off!

I wasn't aware of these either. I have rimfire suppressors, so the P22 adapter compatability is a big plus for me.

I'll probably have to have one down the road...

Just a little under 4 lbs. I was hoping it would have a significant feel to it, and there was no lack of that!

The 20 round magazines are all I can find, so I'm guessing it's not going to be available in states with high capacity magazine bans any time soon. I hope they offer some 30 round magazines, but 20 is ptty good.

I wasn't sure if I would lik eit when I ordered it, so I only got the one magazine. I'll be ordering some more as soon as I do some shooting and confirm I like it.
